The Institute of Clinical Chemistry at the University Hospital of Zurich (www.usz.ch)
provides laboratory diagnostics for its patients as well as for
external clients. Since 1998 the laboratory diagnostics part of the
institute is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025. The institute
reports more than 2.5 million analyses per year on more than 450
different parameters, most of which are analysed on a daily basis. In
addition to widespread routine tests, the institute provides many
special tests (some of which are unique in Switzerland) for the
measurement of hormones, drugs, or metabolites. Apart from providing
high quality diagnostic services, the institute is nationally and
internationally very well recognized and renowned because of its
diagnostic and scientific expertise in lipid and drug metabolism,
atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease and dyslipidemias.
