With its own independent research unit, the department enlarges its
important international position in the scientific field as well. The
Department of Urology offers the complete range of diagnosis of and
treatment for urological diseases in men and women. Implementing all
modern methods, the specialists carry out 3,000 operations and 20,000
consultations every year. In research, internationally recognised
results have been achieved. In order to increase the degree of
innovation, an independent research unit was founded in 2007. A team of
20 physicians, 40 nurses and 12 administrative employees guarantee
compassionate care to their patients. The research activities of urology
range from urological oncology focusing on prostate and bladder cancer,
tissue engineering, erectile dysfunction and neurourology.
