The Departement of Cardiology at the University Hospital Zurich (www.usz.ch) provides the full range of state-of-the-art clinical know how and technology for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Its diagnostic services include clinical examination by experienced, internationally recognized cardiologist, echocardiography, nuclear medicine examinations (including positron emission tomography), magnet resonance imaging, computed tomography of the heart, as well as coronary angiography and percutaneous cardiac interventions (including coronary, renal and carotid interventions, aortic valve stenting and mitraclip). Furthermore, the departement is a center of excellence in hypertension and offers clinics for hyperlipidemia, rhythm disorders, congentital heart disease and heart failure. The division is internationally renowned for its research on atherosclerosis, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction.
