Oncology focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and
prevention of cancer. The Department of Oncology at the University
Hospital of Zurich (www.usz.ch)
provides state-of-the-art work-up and treatment for all types of
cancer, including assessments for second opinions. Patients are offered
the opportunity to participate in national or international clinical
trials and research programs. Such programs ensure optimal care
according to international guidelines and highest scientific standards,
as well as early access to forefront treatment modalities.
Internationally, the Clinical Research and Cancer Care in
Neuro-Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Breast Cancer and Cancers of the
Gastrointestinal Tract hold prominent visibility and recognition. The
interdisciplinary Swiss HPB-Center (Hepato-, Pancreatico-, Biliary
Cancer) is a center of excellence in HPB-Oncology. The services for
Head- and Neck Cancer, Sarcomas and Skin Cancers offer highest quality
interdisciplinary services to our patient. The Department of Oncology at
University Hospital Zurich is an internationally recognized Center of
Cancer Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy.
